Situated on a rustic acreage in Cobble Hill, BC, Canada, Silverside Sound is a professionally designed recording studio built within the walls of an old winery.
Designed by Ron ‘Obvious’ Vermeulen, the studio features a fully isolated, spacious control room (330 sq. ft), luxurious live room (896 sq. ft), three isolation booths (100 sq ft., 36 sq. ft, and 25 sq. ft. ) and lounge (320 sq. ft).
Renovation of the space began in the Winter of 2018 and was completed during the Summer of 2019.
Built with the purpose of ‘live off the floor’ recording in mind, the live room is one of the largest on Vancouver Island. In addition to the isolation rooms, moveable baffles with windows (6’ x 5.5 ‘) make capturing a live performance in the same room practical and comfortable.
Both the live room and the control room are outfitted with ultra-quiet HVAC systems making fresh air and pleasant temperatures a year-round reality.
The ethos of Silverside Sound is simple: provide a space for your art to shine, capture the sounds that you hear in your mind.
